GCSE Edge focuses on how your teen learns: building executive function, effective revision strategies, and emotional regulation under pressure. It complements tutoring (or replaces the need for it if the issue isn't subject knowledge).

The clarity session helps us figure that out together. I'll be honest if I don't think I'm the right fit – but typically, if your teen is motivated to improve (even if they don't know how), we can make real progress.

Coaching works best when a young person is ready to engage — genuine buy-in matters. GCSE Edge is designed to feel supportive, collaborative, and low-pressure, not like “more school”.

Some initial hesitancy is normal, especially if your teen has had negative experiences with tutoring or felt misunderstood in the past. The clarity session is deliberately low-pressure and collaborative - teens often find it feels different from what they've experienced before.

In practice, one focused hour of coaching each week can often save many more hours otherwise lost to procrastination, overwhelm, or ineffective study habits.

It depends on what we're working on. Some families book 4-6 sessions to target specific challenges (e.g., revision planning, task initiation). Others work with me across the year for ongoing support through mocks and final exams. We'll discuss this in the initial session.

Sessions are flexible and can be held online or in person (Cheltenham, Cotswolds).

GCSE Edge is coaching, not therapy or clinical intervention. It may not be right if:

• Your teen is in acute mental health crisis (therapeutic support should come first - I'm happy to work alongside therapy once stabilised)

• Your teen is completely unwilling to engage (some hesitancy is normal, but coaching requires showing up)

• The main issue is subject knowledge gaps rather than executive function or study skills
